As a first-generation American with Caribbean parents, I've always had a strong connection to the sea.
The beach was our favorite place to visit. The water provided both clarity and comfort. It appeared to sweep away all of our concerns.
Back in the Caribbean, the water was crystal clear, and I enjoyed seeing the many sea animals pass by. Fish, sting rays, turtles, dolphins, and sharks all led exciting lives beneath the waves.
And they were all dependent on one another.
Growing up in New York City, I witnessed the polar opposite. The waters were murky, with very little life in them. And very few people were concerned or even aware of the harm that plastic waste was inflicting to marine life.
I realized the sea animals depended on us, and looked for opportunities to help wherever I can.
NyGon was founded on the belief that single actions of individual people, collectively, have the power to change the world. Over 1,000,000 sea animals are harmed each year by plastic and nylon debris left in the sea. Join us and thousands of individuals in our commitment to end the ocean plastic crisis.
We take pride in that our NyGon watchbands are constructed from upcycled ocean-bound nylon and plastics. In addition to being super soft and comfortable, this unique band eliminates the chance of waste winding up in our oceans.
15% of profits will be donated to various nonprofits that ensure the survival of sea turtles through research, education, advocacy, and protection of the natural habitats upon which they depend.
